We provide EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) for our products.
An EPD is a brief document that describes the environmental impact of a product or service in a life cycle analysis. In Norwegian, the term "environmental declaration" is often used to describe EPDs. Together with LCA.no AS, we have created an EPD generator for our products.
Environmental declarations are:
Approved by an independent third party
Transparent and comparable, as they are developed according to standards
Published (publicly available from EPD Norway)
Additive, so that an EPD can be used as a basis for environmental accounting for larger projects
Developing an EPD is based on an LCA (Life Cycle Assessment). An LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) is a systematic mapping and assessment of the environmental and resource impacts of a product/product system. An LCA assesses the entire life cycle, from raw material extraction, production, transportation, use phase to disposal or reuse, from "cradle to grave", or preferably "cradle to cradle".
A common methodology and format ensures simplification, credibility and comparability in procurement.
